Twitter Wars Escalate Between Jones and White

San Francisco, CA | June 4, 2020, 2:15 a.m.

Twitter wars are happening again. This time because of a pay dispute between Jon Jones and his boss Dana White.

After Ngannou's stellar performance against Rozenstruik, Jones sent a tweet suggesting that he could beat Ngannou. A fight of this magnitude would have huge ramifications throughout the heavyweight class. Dana White immediately dismissed the idea and accused Jones of asking for too much money — Fury-Wilder kind of money. In refute, Jones called White a liar for suggesting he asked for such a big purse.

Things escalated from there to the point on Sunday when Jones said that he plans to relinquish the lightweight belt. It will be interesting to see who plays the bigger man and puts an end to this childish nonsense. We all want to see Jones fight again. What a shame it will be if he never enters a UFC octagon again over a pair of tweets.
